We spent the night near the San Francisco airport on Thursday. It always makes for a much less stressful travel day. Friday at 9:00 a.m. we were shuttled to SFO for a flight to L.A. where we connected with our flight to Rome. After battling with Alitalia because of their last minute seat reassignments (Bonnie & I did not get to sit together), pretty bad food and almost losing our luggage, it is definitely not our favorite airline. But after a bumpier that usual flight, they got us to Rome safe and sound. We are now happy campers.
Tonight we enjoyed a delicious meal at a local Italian restaurant with some fellow travelers from the East Coast. Our wonderful waiter, Buonafaccia, was such fun breaking into song and flirting with all the women. Tomorrow is a big day, so after being up for almost 30 hours, it’s time to put this tired body to rest.
